About Us

Aurélie - Founder
Born and bred in La Rochelle in the south-west of France, Aurélie is a native Francophone who has been working as a professional foreign language teacher for eight years. Her passion for languages and travelling led her to the United States where she began her career as a teacher of French as a Foreign Language. It was during this time Aurélie came to realize how much she enjoyed teaching her own language, sharing her knowledge about French culture, and especially inspiring her students to learn and speak French.

Education and Experience
Once she was back in France, she started a Master Degree in French as a Foreign Language at the University of Poitiers. Her first internship was a revelation and confirmed her vocation as a teacher. Aurélie is always keen on stimulating her students’ curiosity about France and the French people. She then started to work for different universities and language schools across Europe, including the Alliance française of London. During this time, Aurélie taught general and specialised French to individuals and groups of all levels and ages including companies such as Clifford Chance, Suez, Rio Tinto, Antenna International, BNP Paribas and the High Commission of Cyprus. She was also involved in writing the official examinations for the DELF-DALF diplomas and has been appointed as a jury member for the TEF examination, both granted by the French Ministry of Education.
French Workshop
What Aurélie likes about being a teacher is that no lesson is the same. Whether she helps a group of children make their first steps in French, coaches a student for an entrance exam to a university, or teaches business French to a corporate group, she finds it satisfying to see her students achieve their goals and improve their proficiency week after week. Encouraged by her students and business clients, Aurelie had the idea of opening the only company specialised in French in Aberdeen. In her spare time, Aurélie likes reading, cooking for her friends and is interested in photography.
